Material design and performance of carbon monoxide‐fueled solid oxide fuel cells: A review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are electrochemical energy conversion devices with flexibility. Since carbon monoxide (CO) is a major product of SOFC anodes operating hydrocarbon fuels, direct utilization CO as expected for more efficient operation SOFCs. A review on CO-fueled technologies imperative to promote research activities in this important field, but it has not been published. In review, we summarize and comment literatures respect (1) materials developed three fundamental components (anode, cathode, electrolyte), (2) power output stabilization strategies, (3) critical challenges directions the development

Investigation the performance of solid oxide fuel cells and the role of nanotechnology in its construction

Nanotechnology is well used in the development and performance improvement of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The high operating temperature of SOFCs (700-900 ° C) has led to serious shortcomings in their overall performance and durability. Hence, the high operating temperature has been reduced to the average temperature range of approximately 44-700 Celsius, which has improved performance and ...

Performance modeling and parametric investigation of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)

In his paper, performance modeling and parametric study of a tubular solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) fed by hydrogen was conducted. The components of the fuel cell system and its reactions were entirely modelled and an electrochemical analysis done for it. A variety of modeling parameters including temperature, working pressure and the air mass- flow rate have been investigated in order to observe...

Spatiotemporal simulation of nickel oxide and carbon phases formation in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC)

The formation of secondary phases in the porous electrodes is a severe mechanism affecting the lifetime of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). It can occur via various chemical mechanisms and it has a significant influence on cell performance due to pore clogging and deactivation of active surfaces and triple-phase boundary (TPB). We present a modeling and simulation study of nickel oxide formation ...
